What Do I Do Now

To say it's been hard out there would be the biggest understatement of my life. It's not hard it's impossible. I cannot get a new job. 1-year social media, a year of assistant work and it seems to mean nothing. It's either I apply to an entry-level assistant job, which I thought would be easy considering the experience I have compared to what they want, but found out its not that easy. I visited an old professor and explained to him my situation and he said "Believe it or not some of these companies will think you have too much experience. They might think something is wrong with you when you apply with all that experience for a job that requires no experience. Or, I apply for a job that requires 1-2 years of experience and who are they going to choose? Myself who worked for an app nobody knows or a small company that people haven't heard of. No, they are going to hire someone who worked for like CBS for a half year, over me.

I blame my school for everything, something needs to be changed. They put no focus on pressuring you to get an internship, they didn't make it seem important. I had a requirement to take a language class, like that's going to help anyone. I also had a requirement to take a lab where I dissected a pig. Where in my life is that going to help me. A requirement should have been an internship. They should have tossed the pig aside and put me in an internship for my field and said I need to do this to graduate. When I found it in my field(PR, advertising, Marketing) its hard to get a job and I should get an internship to build my resume, I went in to school they tossed me away saying "we don't help seniors." So I had to try and find something on my own. Instead of the school putting me in a legit internship at some firm that they have done hundreds of times I had to find something on my own. I found an internship on craigslist for app nobody ever heard of and I couldn't build any connections or work hard to get a permanent job because they couldn't afford to pay me. Now I can't go back to school for help because if they don't help seniors, why would they help a graduate. So now I am hoping to win the lottery pretty much because that seems like only way I will make it.

I've done everything I can think of. I have sent out over 1000 applications. I have messaged people on LinkedIn, whether I send a professionally sounding message or just asking to speak with someone about the company, to even sounding desperate, which has gotten a few replies. But nothing has come from anything. I worked hard to get my bachelors degree and I am going to find myself on the streets in a few years. What do i do now?
