Took a nearly two years off to become a full-time trader, and travel. Looking to get back in the work force now. Do I even mention trading on my resume?
Hi /r/jobs,
I'm looking to get back in the work force after being out for two years. I quit my previous position due to lack of ability to progress in the company (small company, execs were comfy, everyone else was underpaid/high turnover) and because I was making more by day-trading than my salary was paying me. It was also something I've been passionate about for years now, so I wanted to take the opportunity to try it full-time, on my own, while I could.
Everything was/is okay, but due to some unforseen liabilities (as well as loneliness) I've decided to dive back in to the search for a full-time gig again. Trading went okay, but I'm not sure if I should include this on my resume or if it appears too risky?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm considering putting it on there and explaining my reasons for doing it when/if I get an interview, but I don't want them to think I'm a degenerate who's going to leave the position the second I find something that pays remotely better.
Thanks so much for your time.
