Should I risk being late during my second week of work due to dangerous weather conditions?

I’ve just started a new job and I love it. Today I am due in at 6 am, but the tiny snowstorm we were supposed to get is much worse than anticipated. I’m already plowed into the driveway so I have to shovel my car out and then it’s a 45 minute commute with snow falling quickly. The weather channel says travel is not advised but there is no travel ban. I’m definitely not calling out, but do you think my company will be understanding giving the circumstances?
