Today I received and offer from a company after 5 interviews which also included me reviewing one of their clients websites and making a presentation that I presented to 4 different people.
The position is in marketing to be the lead technical person in the firm on their biggest accounts. Basically for my specialty I’d be the most senior person in the firm.
When I did my sample work for the presentation they couldn’t give me access to google analytics (the go to tool on this) and one other important data source. You’ll see them reference it “fairly limited data” in the email below.
I got the offer in an email and it started “we are excited to offer...”
The second paragraph was this: https://imgur.com/a/ECqQcIn
I’m trying to put my ego aside here, of course I can learn more and they also have their own way of doing things I need to learn. But it seems like a really odd thing to put right up front with the offer.
I don’t know if it’s a weird negotiation tactic, a poorly worded “you can grow in this position” or something.
I kinda feel like it’s rude. My guts says Either it’s a less than professional negotiation tactic or they offered it to their first choice and they turned it down.
I wanted some outside perspective.
