So for a little background info, I have a lot of medical problems both mentally and physically so it's very difficult for me to find and keep jobs. I can't sit or stand continuously without a lot of pain and I can't deal with a lot of customer interactions due to my bad anxiety.
This being said, I think an office job would be a good job for me. I figure being an office assistant I can sit and stand/walk around (instead of doing just one or the other all day) I can work with computers and hopefully not have to deal with a ton of customers in person. The problem is, every office assistant job or "Entry level" office type job I find requires experience that I don't have. So I'm wondering, how am I supposed to get any kind of office work experience when I can't even get a job in that area to GET the experience?
I've seen some places that want experience in certain computer programs or office procedures that I'm sure can be easily taught or explained. I love learning new things and I would love to learn to do office work and data entry. I worked at a call center were I had to do data entry with customers over the phone but I don't have a full year of experience doing that.
I'm getting desperate for a job, and I'd like to get some opinions on how others get around this "Need experience" but can't get it without getting a job to get the experience. It's maddening!
