Applied online for Sonic. A weekish later, got a text late at night saying to confirm my interview the next morning. Said I couldn't on such short notice. My dad said the man was unprofessional and not to consider working there. Curious about opinions.

So basically, I'd applied at Sonic online. About a week later, I got a text really late that said "Hi, this is (guys name) at the sonic at (location). You have an interview tomorrow morning at 8am. Please confirm."

It was obviously a real person, and not an automatic message.. So I responded and said "I'm sorry, I really can't make it. I've got a doctor's appointment in the morning. Can we reschedule?" and he said "no. Tomorrow is the only day. Can't you just come in it will literally take 10 mins."

I said "I really can't, I'm sorry. My appointment is in a different city so I have to leave early and it's around that time. If I'd had more notice, I would've said something or rescheduled my doctor's appointment."

And he said tomorrow is the only day they're doing open interviews. I apologized again, and asked him to please let me know the next available time if possible, and he didn't respond.

I told my dad, and he said that guy was super unprofessional and not to even consider working there again, and just let it go.

I've never had a legit job, so I don't know how this stuff works. I'm just curious if this situation is normal? And also, was I in the wrong?
