I started applying last Fall for summer '19 internships and I am getting discouraged with the amount of rejections and ghosting I've been getting. I had three interview this week which I'm assuming all went great but the wait is killing me. One company who I interviewed with a month ago said I was going to get a response back this week but I never did even after I followed up. Why do recruiters still do that? Mind you, this was a Fortune 100 company.
I have decent experience; 2 previous internships in my area of study + 3 years of work + solid GPA + okay-ishh state school. I have tried applying out of state as well, with different addresses for each one and tailored my cover letter and resume to match the job description.
What am I doing wrong? Is it just because the market is competitive? Or am I being impatient? I'd like to know other college students' experience with the whole process as well.
