Hello everyone, I am a 27 M who graduated college in 2016 with a B.A. degree. I have been in my current job in LA for about a year now and it is in the field of education. I have thought about leaving but didn't really apply to jobs because I don't want to seem like a job hopper (1st job out of college = 9 months, 2nd job = 3 months, 3rd job = 1 year which is current job). I just applied last month for a job in Chicago for a position that is in a top ranking university (Northwestern). Today I received an email from them inviting me to a phone interview. The perks of working for this university is that if I decide to pursue my M.A. they will give me a 75% discount. Plus, the lower cost of living along with the convenience of working in the school you're pursuing your graduate degree in seems too good to pass up.
I currently commute 1 hour to work and 1 hour from work on a daily basis here in LA. Plus, I still live with my parents and really feel that it is time for me to move out. I also, feel that it would be letting my current co-workers down if I were to leave but I know that objectively moving for a role like this one is the smart decision for my future.
