The CEO gave me a significant raise this year, 100% more than I normally get at the end of the year. I'd like to thank him, but I'm not aware of any protocol on this. I usually buy his family audio-related presents (speakers, headphones etc.) for Christmas, but be aware that they are very wealthy, far wealthier than I, so realistically I'm not going to blow them away with my amazing present from a functional standpoint.
I'm looking for something under $200 (money remains somewhat tight for me after a series of expensive medical procedures), and keep in mind he already has an extensive collection of high-end pens and watches, so even were I going higher, a lot of the standard "work" gifts are out of the question. He's having his first child soon, so that might also be an avenue for gifts.
He does have a taste for fine wines and other drinks, but since I'm not a drinker myself, I would be hopelessly lost. He also has an extensive champagne/wine collection, and, of course, his wife is pregnant, so she wouldn't be able to enjoy it, so also a potential minefield.
TL;DR - Big raise, would like to show appreciation, boss already has nice things, not sure what to get him.
