I was contacted for an internship with a Fortune 500 company recently and just had a phone interview. I am an HR management major, and she said that it's more of a marketing/sales internship (I won't be selling anything, it's just about making connections with customers on campus). She asked if I am flexible with my major and I said possibly, that I'm open to getting experience. It will be like 4 weeks of training and I'll work there for a year or more with the same pay I get at my retail job (still above minimum wage). I've been considering MAYBE (there's like a 40% chance) transferring down south to a school if I can get in, which would cut my internship short, but not sure still.
With that said, it's not within my major, but it's still a good internship based on making connections with customers.
Is any experience good experience?
She is going to call me tomorrow to prepare me for the next interview but if this isn't a good idea, I don't want to waste their time. I'm not at all experienced in the internships realm, so I need some advice.
