I work part time sales.
Was ringing up a customer for a dress and asked if she wanted a garment bag for it. She said yes, I packed it up and she went on her way.
Manager says to me after she left in an annoyed tone:
"Don't ask if they want it! Just give it to them! They'll want it!"
I explain that sometimes people don't want it, so I ask to make sure.
She then says to me: "You get anxiety over the dumbest things, I swear. The dumbest!"
I just looked at her, not knowing what to say. I have really bad anxiety/depression and everyone in my work knows it (I didn't have to tell them either, my anxiety can be very present and clear when I'm working). I just said "Sorry" and she said "Just stop it. Stop with that."
Later on that day (this isn't related but it still shows her being mean to me) I accidentally popped a bag while I was trying to open it. She snatched it from me and said in a very serious tone "Oh my god, I'm going to kill you. I swear I'm going to kill you."
She's usually pretty friendly towards me so maybe she was joking. I don't think she meant anything serious but I don't care. I'm not your friend, I'm your employee and you have zero right to tell me I worry about "dumb" things. I wasn't even worried, I was simply asking the customer a question. I couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the night.
