How important is it for you to get along or be friends with your co-workers?

In my current job, my team barely talk. In fact, sometimes hours can go by without anyone saying a word or making conversation and I’m finding it so hard to get used to.

People have their earphones in and generally only talk about work related things, but at times they will even just send emails despite the fact you’re sat opposite them. The only time the other two team members seem to talk is when they go for cigarettes, but I don’t smoke.

I’m all for knuckling down and working hard, but struggling with the lack of communication and general rapport amongst team members. This is a creative business and this atmosphere is making it hard to feel inspired and creative.
