Because I have no car (just a DL) I specifically avoid applying to jobs that make it clear a car is required. This job's description said only that a DL was required, there would be a driving records background check, and the applicant would occasionally be driving a company vehicle.
However, in the interview it was mentioned that a personal vehicle is a requirement of the job position and gas/mileage would be reimbursed. I should've immediately told them that was a deal-breaker but the interviewer was talking rapid-fire and I couldn't interrupt without looking like a dick. And then they jumped straight into the questions and I felt like I had to go along with it.
I'm very annoyed because I spent 40 minutes traveling to the interview location only for it to be a waste of time for both of us. Should I preemptively withdraw my application via email, or should I wait until I'm contacted again?
I feel like I bombed the interview so contacting them may in fact be entirely pointless.
