Brief History:
I am with this company for almost 4 years, the company has not been able to make profit as I heard, the company had sold part of its business off, people had been leaving. My salary had been stagnant since last year, I had started to struggle as there added new commitment, and inflations on food and etc, I am definitely sure there will be no raise this year also.
Currently, the company had only left with 3 peoples, new and more responsibilities had added in on my job, some old responsibilities had been obsoleted since part of the business is sold, now I am doing stuff that completely different from my original job title designated, my job title unchanged, no raise.
My boss had been telling us, all new company always started off with struggles, especially new business venture. Then he give us examples like Amazon, Google, Ali Baba, and etc that it takes more than 10 years to grow, and assure that with the company new business direction we will soon able to make profit, and promised us that as soon company making profit, we will surely be beneficial from this. And as company growth, company pioneers like us will be awarding. and the boss said he does not want our salary to be stagnant and low, he does want us to have like more than market rates salary (it sure sounds good, I had started to doubt on this kind of promised).
I need some advice on this should I stay or leave? Will I be selfish to leave the company at such stages?
