Why do people feel that the company has the right to control them very hard?

Because of taking pay from them they feel the need to devote their entirety of themselves like offering their life to them. As far as I know my purpose of being paid it is merely to do compulsory help to you but yet everytime you keep talking about this people are like you should and I do not understand the logic behind it. I don't remember I am being paid not to be allowed to stare at blank space or rather that is why people need to hire at all. As long as I do what is given to me I should be allowed to do anything else of my liking but that is not how people feel things should be.
