What is it really like working for Spectrum in Los Angeles as a field technician?

My buddy told me his boss is willing to hire me on the spot but I don't know. Right now at my current job I get paid 15.50hr and I get my checks weekly. Full time and I do nothing at all but watch monitors. The problem is there's no advancement.

What I want to know is how is the pay at Spectrum and is it worth it?
