They say fake til you make it but

I always feel weird at job interviews because i cant be honest and fake at the same time. I want to be honest with it but i cant. I feel inadequate. I dont want to lie to them. Id ratherbe honest. So which is it? Be honest or fake it til you make it? I have no confidence when answering questions
