So I’ve been offered a new job which I am excited about and today I did a urine drug screen. I am prescribed adderall and have been for almost 6 years. I have a letter from my doctor stating that I am prescribed the medication because I told him at my last visit that I was applying for jobs and was close to getting an offer etc. and expressed my concerns about potential drug testing.
I took the letter to the test site (quest diagnostics) and they wouldn’t take the letter stating that “they only collect the drug screening and no other paper work” I am not sure what to do about this because I don’t want to wait until the test result comes back to the HR person (what if they don’t give me a chance to explain why I test positive for amphetamines and take the job offer away) should I email a copy of the letter to the HR person that I’ve been in contact with? Or should I send it to someone else...maybe the medical officer? Any HR workers that can give me some insight on what to do in this situation?
