I’m really embarrassed right now. I entered a toxic work environment knowing that it might be toxic, thinking, I’ve handled toxic work environments in combat how bad could it be.
Well I was under prepared.
A constant litany of cursing and yelling non stop. And my boss sits less than four feet away facing me.
Comments questioning my intelligence and grasp of subjects happening every few minutes, All based on his own misunderstandings.
I was hired because the organization is a paperwork fiasco. And I’m an expert in supply management and logistics. But, it quickly became apparent that it was his fault it had gotten to this. He’s high strung and prone to spinning mentally to the point zero tasks get done.
I sent my new boss a text (his email is shared and I felt I did not want to embarrass him)
I left it in his hands if I am to return on Monday. I’m not trying to sue, nor collect unemployment.
I just want to ensure a safe environment for the small group of people who work there (me and 2 others)
I honestly am disappointed in my self for not being able to tough it out.
But I don’t think any amount of money is worth it, well at least this is not enough. Not sure what my money to abuse threshold is yet. Apparently higher than 65k.
Has anyone successfully navigated a toxic work environment? I could really use the advice. I’m pretty depressed right now.
