I was laid off a little over a month ago as a part of redundancy measures. First time it had ever happened and it was from my first job out of college. When I applied it was with an un-updated resume and throughout the interview process I acted like I was still employed at my old company because I’ve heard gaps will disqualify you from a job. I accepted an offer two days ago and I knew they were conducting a background check so I called the HR person and told her what was up. She seemed pretty cool about it and said to update my job application. Despite the transparency, is there a chance I’ll have my offer rescinded?
TLDR: embellished employment date by a month and lied about being laid off. Told the truth but am scared that my offer will be taken away
