It’s my first time on this subreddit so apologies if this is not an appropriate place to ask this, but I’m in need of some advice!
I recently was contacted by a job recruiter for a position that I had applied for. The initial phone call went very well, and he set me up to interview directly with the company (it’s a small company). The interview seemed to go well on both sides, and they said they would be in touch. A few days later, I got a phone call from the recruiter again, saying things went really well on their end, asking if I had any questions or concerns and what my salary requests were (which I told him, and he said that was perfectly reasonable and feasible). Conversation ended with him saying they wanted to move onto the “next steps” and that he’d be in touch in a few days.
That’s where I need the advice! That last phone call was last Tuesday, so today makes it one whole week, with no contact. I’m not sure if this is a normal amount of time?
Should I continue to wait or should I send him a message? And if I should initiate contact, what’s an appropriate thing to say? I hate coming across as needy or pushy.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
