I previously posted here about a salary question but that process didn’t work out. I’ve since been applying to several other jobs and I’m in the final stage for a job I’d really like to get.
However, the final interview steps include a “home interview” aka the interviewer will come to my house and conduct the interview here, this is to “evaluate your home environment and general socioeconomic status”.
They’ve asked me to let them know my availability but I’m just wondering ummm wtf? Is this something anyone here has ever heard of? This is a privately owned company in the Midwest, if that matters at all. It seems to me like a huge invasion of my privacy like wtf do they care what I do and how I live outside of the work environment? I’m thinking of turning them down just because this turned me off so much, regardless of how desperately I want to get a new job and specifically this position.
