Applying to jobs with unrelated experience

I have had exclusively retail jobs and am applying to a bunch of positions in a hospital environment (food running, housekeeping, etc). Does anyone have any advice on how I can market myself a bit more with unrelated experience ? I know if I can just get an interview I will be able to handle the rest.
