I am grad student in a STEM field so apologies if this is a bit of a dumb post. A recruiter from a US defense company reached out to me with a message and wanted to get people's thoughts on whether it would be worth following up or if it is just a waste of time. (I removed any company info)
The message:
I'm a Senior Technical Recruiter working with [redacted] on specific openings that appear well-aligned with your background. Can we connect so I can share details and learn about you? If in fact you might be and have a current copy of your CV/Resume, please send it with the best days and times we can chat. If not, I still would like to at least talk about [redacted] with you. Thank you! Note: When you do send your resume please make sure there is “no” personal information in the contents, such as phone number and email address. This information can be shared once it has been determined you are a candidate.
Clearly this is just a canned message and I don't want to waste my time with something that is just well you sound great for this job, but... here's something completely unrelated.
