Advice on current job situation - next step advice needed

Hi everyone - I [M24] am at a crossroads with my job and really need advice on where to go from here.

I'm currently working at a logistics company in the call center department. This was my first job right out of college (bachelors in psych), and I've been here for about a year and a half. While my feelings have gone up and down relating to this job, but as a whole I hate it. It pays decent, my boss is an angel, coworkers are alright, it is just not the direction or the career field that I want to go into. And working at a call center is stressful and mentally exhausting after a while, especially since we are understaffed.

My dilemma is this - my current job will be moving to Atlanta around Feb 2020. I'm not going with them - it's just not for me. But here is the thing - if I stay til they move, I'll be able to get 17 weeks severance pay. That would be roughly 10k with the taxes taken out. I'm currently 9k in debt right now just by credit cards, so this would be a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

This could get pushed out. We transferred one department when I first started and that was pushed out 6 months - this is our whole entire office this time. One boss said it could get pushed out til late 2020, early 2021. On top of this, my current job is in the suburbs and I'm living with my parents. I go to the city (Chicago) a lot, but it's really hard to have a social life in the burbs at 24, and would love to move to Chicago. I know - first world problem- but it's been messing with my head lately.

On top of that, I don't want to start getting into the field I want to get into (research-related, hopefully in social science field, but I'm open to anything). Its hard to find part time jobs in it since my hours are 9-5 mon-friday.

I'm at a crossroads and would appreciate advice from people that may have been in this situation before. Thanks
