Wondering about careers for spacial reasoning skills (maybe autoCAD?)

First off, my apologies if this sub isn’t the right place for this kind of post, or if there’s a better sub. If so, please point me to it.

I’m wondering about careers that use spacial reasoning skills, and what sort of skills or qualifications I would need for something like that.

I haven’t finished my bachelors yet, I’m taking time off to pay down debt and figure out what I would actually do with a political science degree. A bout or two of depression didn’t help either.

That being said, I could finish a bachelors program in something reasonably quickly.

I’ve started thinking about things like autoCAD, and other programs and jobs where the ability to maximize how many widgets you can get out of a sheet of steel is useful.

Could anyone give me some pointers on places to start looking and reading, or how I could move into such work?
