When it rains...

So I have been fortunate enough to have been made an offer from company #1, still doing case management, but with a demographic that I am more interested in which is mental health. The days off and the extra 6k are great and the main office is also close to where I live even though my caseload will be in another borough (I live in NYC).

Today get a call for an interview for company #2, but their focus is more broad and I would be working with those with mental/substance/housing issues etc. I told company #2 about my offer from company #1 and thanked them for the opportunity to even interview but THEY STILL WANTED ME TO INTERVIEW. Supposedly from my experience and the brief phone interview/convo, they still wanted to give me a shot. I even bumped up the pay to bluff them (which was almost 10k than what I am getting now) and he said that they could match it and give me the decision that same day. I was shook and accepted the interview for Friday.

This has never happened to me and I don’t know what to do and I damn sure do not wanna mess this up, but I have doubts. Company #2 could have interview quotas and know damn well that Friday might be a waste of time. Plus, I would be their final candidate, which means that I would need to blow them away. I feel that I interview well, but the extra pressure doesn’t help. My caseload will be solely in my borough, and the work environment seems easier. Although being well rounded is great, I wanna lead myself towards my focus on those with mental health issues.

Have you ever experienced something like this? Have you ever delayed your career goals for a job that seemed to fit at the time? How did it work out?Any tips on how to not f this up?
