I've been burned in the past and I don't want to be employed by any company that is shady enough to potentially be a scam or be unreliable with payment. I have an interview with a customer service call center, and while they have a downtown office location, I'm still cautious since they contacted me through my state unemployment profile and I don't know if being able to rent an office space in a major downtown building is good enough, since I can't find a lot of online information about them. What are some questions I can ask or information I can ask for during an interview to determine their legitimacy?
Edit: As far as the legitimacy of the company goes, to make sure it's not a scam targeting me or a scam targeting others.
Edit: first impressions were enough to tell me this was not something I wanted. The name of the company was different on the door than on the business cards, the employees looked like they were cobbled together out of naive and inexperienced people, the amount of interviews I saw listed on the sign in suggested to me that turnover was high, and most of all, despite all sorts of visable and verbal apprehension on my part, the interviewer was adamant about selling me on the job instead of me trying to sell myself as an employee. Gut feeling said to stay away
