Using your job title in your personal voicemail greeting?

Does anyone do this? Is this something new? Lately I’ve noticed when calling personal cell phone numbers that people are recording something like, “Hey, you’ve reached Jonathan Trimbold with the Compliance Dept at Regency Health Centers. I’m sorry that I’ve missed your call, but if you would leave me your contact information and a brief message I look forward to getting back with you.”

Is this appropriate?
