There is an administrative role that I am interested in. On the application, the company want's me to state my previous job's exact yearly salary. However, I don't want to state it as it is above the average salary for an administrative role by around $5K -$10K. Is there a way around this? I want to avoid giving the salary since my application will most likely be denied because HR would think that I would be demanding a salary above what they are looking for, hence from their perspective being "overqualified". As a background, the yearly salary from my previous job was between $33,000 - $36,000. Meanwhile, the salary for this role, according to Glassdoor, is around $24,000 - $26,000 on average. Also, the main reason I am going for this role is because my skillset is a fit for it.
