I currently live in CA 3 hours from LA. I got a part time job at 20 hours a week at $14 hr and with each new credential I get I can make more. They had the option of paying me $13/hr but opted to pay me $14/hr, max for this position. I will be working for an ABA company. I was worried because when they called they said they wanted to get me to work with an adult and in the interview I said only feel comfortable working with k-8th because I have a year working with children and I have an older autistic brother and don't want to be reminded of having issues with my brother when I see him. They still offered me the job though even though I said I feel more comfortable with children, and at max pay. After I get my RBT cert, I'll be making $15/hr w/ benfits and full time and once I get BCassistantBA after 4k of grad school classes at FIT, I can make $20/hr-$23/hr. It also took them a little over a week to offer me the position. I'm guessing they were busy?
Okay, so now for the State of TN position. I'd be working in child protection services or as an elgibilty worker. I wouldn't need to fork our $4k in extra schooling. I don't even know if I will get a skype interview. I just had an email interview. The pay for TN in Clarksville and Nashville is $30,000k a year with benefits.
The state of GA position is $35,000 a year and would also be in child protection services. I had an email interview and waiting to see if they are willing to do a skype interview.
Cost of living is cheaper in Nashville and Atlanta metro than CA. Average glassdoor rating for state of TN and State of GA is around 3.5. The non profit in CA is about the same too.
Personally I think I'd like the Atlanta culture more. I also don't know how long it will take for a response about the Skype Interview. I have two weeks to be ready for the ABA company. I could always take the ABA company job and take the out of state job later.
Any advice or opinions on what I should do?
