Only have certs for IT work?

Currently I am taking an online college degree program for an associates in computer information systems. As of lately I’ve just become burnt out from it, no motivation to finish the degree as I feel that it won’t be helpful in job interviews and won’t even look good on my resume as the term computer information systems is so broad and barely shows my knowledge in IT. I wanted to just take a few certification exams, starting with compTIA and such and go from there and see if I can start at a basic IT job just to get experience.

My main question is it enough to only have certs on my resume and not a degree? Or would a degree still help a bit along with the certs?
