I got an email from my manager asking to meet tomorrow after work (5-6) to discuss my career goals. I'm a young engineer who has been with this company for a year. When asked if I should prepare anything he said "only if you think it's necessary". What should I expect? Am I going to be fired? This seems random and out of the blue.
I know my career goals and I'm prepared to discuss them but I'm worried there might be another motive.
I think I'm overreacting, but has anyone else experienced this? Does he legitimately just want to discuss career goals?
