I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for an offer and it's driving me insane.

I interviewed 2 1/2 weeks ago for a job, and was told that they would be making a decision before 10/31. I'm a finalist and references have been contacted. It's now past that deadline and I haven't heard back; the waiting game, especially finding out I'm one of the final people considered, is stressing me out. Every day this week I've waited for a phone call that didn't come. How do I deal with this wait? My field is notorious for delays, but everything seemed like I'd find out before Wednesday/Thursday up until today.
