It's sad some people are desperate to take these low paying positions with graduate degrees.

I applied for a job last week which stated all they wanted was a bachelor's degree and prefered was a graduate degree in a social service related field and experience. I had both experience and a BA and applied. Before I went to the interview I stated this would be a bit far for me to travel and was wondering if they were absolutely sure me not having a graduate degree wasnt a big deal. I sent two emails to confirm this. I got this gut feeling like the lady didn't care and didn't read my emails fully. I went to the interview a day early anyways by accident and apoligized for my mistake and the interviewer said she had made the same mistake before. I went to the interview again the next day and ALL the questions were geared towards some one with graduate level MFT experience. I was like wow. Not to mention one of the interviewers phone went off in the interview, but he ignored it. Kind of seemed unprofessional. I got some red flags from the interview like when I asked what are some of the traits of star employees she said "they do what I want and in return I do what the employees need" I was like geesh. The same day I got an email stating they wanted some one with a graduate degree and thank you for my time. The job for some one with a graduate degree is horrible in CA...18/hr to 22/hr. Seems like good pay for some one with a BA and a couple years experience. I emailed her back saying I thought she confirmed if some one without a BA degree applied and had more experience that they would have a chance and the interview questions weren't fair for some one without a BA degree. She then went on this long rant saying whining about not getting the interview was not acceptable and I had poor organizational skills for showing up early to the interview. I was shocked on how rude she was in the interview. The next week I see them posting for preferred a Bachelor's degree and pay 15/hr and part time. This is horrible! I went to glassdoor and apparently this non-profit doesn't have the best reviews to start with. My current position is part time, but at least I'm treated like a human being.

Sorry for this wall of text. Thankfully I found a good job opportunity and the interview went well and my references are being called.
