Is it worth quitting my job and doing an apprenticeship?

Sorry to spam, I know I already posted here yesterday. I've been a support worker in a care home for 5 years. I really need a change. I am treated like crap and earn minimum wage. I was thinking how cool it would be to learn a trade. Locksmiths get paid a lot, right? Or I could learn something like flower arranging.

I'd just like a good, clean honest trade. Something to make a living off of, that will always be in demand. Trouble is, it would be a risk, and there are bills to pay. I am 27 and still live at home with my parents. My Mum would make me feel guilty for leaving my job to do something that would only pay like £3 an hour. She wants her rent and I want to live. I wish I never went to uni and had just learned a trade after school instead.

My dream job is to be a postie but I can't drive!
