Is it beneficial for me to mention longterm goals in my application?

I just started to go to university and I am right now in the process of applying for a bunch of jobs (mostly fast food restaurants in the area; McDonalds, Subway, Burger King) on the side. I will eventually have to complete a mandatory semester in a foreign country (that is not German speaking country) and I am always conflicted if I should mention that.
On the one hand, it conveys that I think ahead, think about the future and don't just intend to spend my salary on alcohol. On the other hand, it sounds like I do not really need the job right now - such a semester isn't recommended until two years or so from now.
It is genuinely a reason why I am interested in earning extra cash cause its gonna be expensive but I am not confident it will play to my advantage. I considered combining it with some shortterm goals, i.e. I really need a lightweight laptop for my study and want to get my driver's license.
