Interviewer said he would call me today but havent received any calls! What do i do?

I really need a job and after applying and calling 2 a couple days ago they called me for an interview tuesday. During that interview they said they'd contact me thursday(today). They didnt really say for what but they did say they'd get my background check as soon as they could. What do you guys think i should do? Call today or maybe wait until tomorrow or a couple days? I really need this job but i dont want to bother the place that gave me the interview.
