I’m I able to get a job

I’m so anxious to start working, I have my birth certificate and SSN but I don’t have a physical Identification Card (it’s currently coming, i went to the dmv last week). I was wondering if I can get a job in the mean time or do I NEED my id in hand, will they trust me when I say it’s coming in the mail. Please I’m looking for serious answers because I need a job. Thank you
