After I finished my Associate's, I was hired at this manufacturing company doing AR / AP and other relevant busy work. It doesn't pay well, but it was nice to dip my fingers in my field for a bit. I've been working here over the fall semester since I had some issues getting into my school of choice. I was recently accepted into said school and I'm having doubts about working ~30 hours a week while in school. I won't be able to full-time school and it's what I genuinely want to do, so I've made up my mind there.
I plan on leaving late December just before the holidays to give some leeway before the next school semester starts.
I already have another job lined up that would require me to work more around ~15 hours a week and I will likely start in January.
The question here is; when should I tell my boss that I'm leaving? We're on good terms and he knows I'm not staying indefinitely. Since I'm the only one in the company with my role, I assume that they would want me to train my replacement, which I am okay with.
I was really wondering if there would be any drawbacks to telling them two months in advance instead of one or just two weeks. I already have a resignation letter written.
