Hi, I’m asking on behalf of a friend who is in high school but hasn’t yet graduated to receive her diploma. She’s bright and she speaks Spanish and English fluently. Because, however, she doesn’t have a diploma or degree, job options are limited. And those jobs that are available.. I wanted to ask for advice and tips on what they are and how she can get increase her chances of getting one. For a bit of background information, she is a legal adult, native Spanish speaker but speaks English fluently (wouldn’t be able to tell she isn’t native with her written fluency), and lives in the capital of Mexico. So, to anyone who has any experience (first-, second-, third-hand..) or knowledge on this or anything at all they’d like to share (or ask): -What type of jobs are there for high school students? -Is there a way to work around the formality of a diploma or degree requirement for a job if the skills required are skills you know you have or know you can develop? -Particular differences in Mexico? I’m from the US and a college student so I although I don’t even have much knowledge on the US job industry, it does seem México has differences when it comes to this -Related to previous question but are there skills or qualities that are in-demand and would make a person desirable as an employee without a diploma? -Are there jobs where education is required but the employer is willing to sponsor the student (not paying for education, just giving them a job) as they get that education and work simultaneously under training or in a less advanced position?
I’m sure a million questions could be asked.. I hope what will come of this is helpful to people, and I’ll share the advice with my friend too.
