I applied to something more than a month ago, got a few automated responses to update me on the status (when they will start reviewing resume, when my resume is being reviewed ..). I recently received a mail thanking me for completing the first interview (and it was praising me for my enthusiasm and knowledge of the company ...) although I did not complete any interview with them.
I sent them a mail saying they've the wrong guy; they replied and said no, 'it's probably the machine' and also tried to divert clearly answering my point. Also, although I'm not a native english speaker and I do lots of grammar mistakes, I was shocked at how many mistakes HR did in her mail. I mean, she is supposed to work for a company in the UK ... (I've done a bit of stalking and I think they outsource their HR process. How common is that for a multi-billion company? ). And overall, I find the mail lacking professionalism (irrelevant change of font size and family, lack of punctuation, multiple-usage of double punctuation such as '!!')
But most suspicious thing is how she is trying to rush me to the interview (they want me to confirm asap for something for the next day).
I know I'm being real picky here, but if I'm deciding to proceed with the interview, I'll have to completely rearrange my schedule (timezone difference doesn't help), will need to find a working webcam and will also need extra preparation for this particular interview as it will be in a language that is not my mother tongue. I'm also reluctant because I'm pretty sure they didn't thoroughly read my resume which says that I can only start in 6 months and that I'm not a UK citizen.
What do you guys think ?
UPDATE : Since I'm waiting for a final decision after an interview I made recently for my dream job and since I might need some time to prepare the interview, I told them I won't be available until 2 weeks. I guess if they really are interested by me, they won't object. Otherwise, no waste of time.
