Can my employer disputes my absence regarding a procedure I need to get done for a Workmans Comp injury?

I had an injury at work in October and I have a Workmans Comp claim filed and they’re paying.

Tomorrow I have to get an invasive outpatient imaging procedure (MRI arthrogram). I was told no activities for 24 hours and I cannot drive afterwards. I will obviously provide a doctors note.

I made my boss aware of this on Wednesday and I received a text from him today saying he wants to discuss my absence.

Is my employer able to dispute my absence for a procedure covered under workmans comp?
