Went in for a personal interview and a technical interview, but the technical interviewer had to leave before seeing me. Should i call them?

About a week ago I had an interview for a job in information security in a fairly big company, I was supposed to see the department head for a personal interview and then the manager for the specific team for a technical interview. The personal interview went okay, I guess? I never really know how to gauge these types of interviews, the ones where they ask you where do you see yourself in so and so years and what would your friends say about you as a person, But i think it went okay. Once the personal interview was over the guy told me to wait while he gets the team leader and after a few minutes he comes and tells me that the team leader had some sort of crisis and had to go, and asked me if I have his number or email so I can reschedule, I had his number so i said yes, and we shook hands and I left. I sent the team leader a message later in the day basically saying "it's really unfortunate that I didn't get to talk to you, just tell me when to show up and I'll come".

So should I call him? Did i sort of fall through the cracks? or did I manage to screw up the personal interview so hard that they didn't even want to bother giving me a technical interview? I don't want to be a pest but I want some closure or something.

I'm not really sure how to approach this, would appreciate some advice.
