My mother is a continually registered CPA in Pennsylvania since 1982 and has a B.S. in Accounting.
She worked for accounting firms from when she graduated college [1981] until she stopped working full time [1991].
Between 1991 and 2006 she was a stay at home parent but also worked part time with our local parish [volunteering for everything as well as doing the books] and did my whole family's and extended friends' taxes. Probably close to 120 people. She has also done the books for a variety of businesses operated by my dad (Small retail, real estate, small business, etc] since 1989.
For the last 12 years at her current company she has worked full time May-January and 30-35 hours/week between February and April as she focuses on doing friends/family taxes.
She has been employed at this small non-profit medical firm since 2006 [12 years] and is significantly underpaid.
She began working part time in 2006 and then full time at the same company in 2009. This company will either be bought out/merged or shut down in the near future and she will most likely be without a job. She currently does all the tax compliance/auditing etc for this non-profit firm but is above her holder coworkers who are not CPAs.
She has never applied for a job online and I am trying to help her but I have no idea for what she should apply or in what role she would best fit. (I'm a civil engineer).
She would prefer a job in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area.
I would appreciate any advice or if there is a more specific subreddit on which to post this thread.
