So far, I completed a phone screening and an in-person interview with the VP of the department. That same day, I got an email from HR stating that the VP liked me and wanted to invite me for a second interview, this time with team members present. That was over a month ago, and since then, HR and I have been e-mailing each other trying to lock-in a date.
The strange thing is, I've given them an ample amount of availability for this second interview. HR will ask, "how's your Wednesday , Thursday , Friday of next week?" - I'll write back with almost full availability on each day. After a few days I get a response - "sorry these days no longer work for the team, let's try X week," and so on.
I have a full-time job already so I'm in no rush to get another one, however this opportunity is objectively better for my career and financial goals. My plan was to take a sick day to make this interview. The fact that their unable to lock-in a time concerns me and makes me think that either I am not a priority candidate or they are unorganized. The flip side is that they truly are very busy people, and I simply have to continue to be patient and not over think it.
Any thoughts?
