is there a way to find out whats the state of my application in a job

been getting a lot of pressure from my parents to get a job for a while now. im 20 if that matters and would like to work part time because of college. but everywhere ive applied to hasn't responded. i would love to work but i mean, what am u supposed to do if i dont get any responses? and my parents are making me feel like this is my fault.

if i dont get a response within 3 months, is that a no? how should i know if i have a bad resume? im applying for basic stuff- retail, restaurants, movie theaters, clothing stores. i wouldnt think theyd expect much experience. is there anything i can do to find out whats going on with the places ive applied
