I joined this analytics company as a Data Analyst (DA) back in April and then after I finished my probation, I got redesignated (promoted?) to another position.
Now, my salary when I was a DA wasn’t that great but since it was entry level and I just finished my studies, I was fine with it plus I had almost zero stress the whole time I was a DA.
And then my company went to some restructuring and my former manager recommended me to join the reporting team because she said I had a “talent” for it. Okay, fine. I like research anyway.
So I received 300 increase in my monthly salary when I joined the reporting team. Now, I was stupid back then because I thought it was a reasonable increase and hey, at least I got an increase, right?
But, what I didn’t know was how stressful this new position is and how high my new manager’s expectations are. I keep being given new projects and right now I have been assigned with 5 accounts I have to handle while others handled 2,3 accounts with salaries higher than me.
Everyday is just a constant stream of stress to the point that I feel burnout and it’s starting to affect my mental health because how much stress I’ve been having yet how little I’m being compensated with.
Usually people say to start looking for a new job. But I love this company’s environment, I love the job, I want to grow with this company. But I desperately need an increase in salary.
My question is, is it a wise thing to ask for an increase in compensation considering I’m only 3 months in this new position? Would I look stupid if I ask that?
(Tl;dr) got promoted but foolishly agreed to a low increment. Starting to lose mind due to stress so looking for an increase in compensation.
