I have a co-worker who sits right next to me who can be the friendliest person one minute then turn into this weird mean spirited monster the next. For example, most days when she comes into work, she's very chatty and friendly. But then there's other days where she will come in and wont even say 'Hi' and if I try to say 'Hi' to her she either wont reply or will look at me like im the stupidest, most annoying rat for daring to speak to her and the whole day will just be spent in awkward silence for reasons that are unknown to me. Another example, she has hounded me for weeks to go vote with her and set up all these plans on where we were gonna go and when, etc etc. I told her I usually go vote as soon as the polls open but she told me to hold off on doing that so that we could go together the following week. So when the day comes for us to finally go vote, "oh yeah, I already voted last weekend. Sorry."
I mean normally if someone is acting the way she does on her mean days, I would just keep my distance from them. But she will come in all chatty and happy after her completely ignoring me the previous day like nothing has happened and it's like....I don't know what to do.
It doesn't feel right being friendly with someone who just bamboozled me or stopped talking to me for a whole day but on the other hand, how do you ignore someone when they're being nice to you like she does on her good days? I'm just not sure what to do here.
