Does this type of job exist?

So I am a huge fan of IT related jobs, I always love working on the computer and to my family I am the go to Tech person to help with anything. I also am very very interested in investigative work. I can find just about anything I want to about a business or individual by research and resources online. Have helped family members track down people who have attempted identity theft etc.

Is there a career out there that does work such as this where they are analyzing and investigating businesses/individuals online for whatever reason? I realize there are private investigators but that’s not really what I’m looking to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
